Predator and protection

Searching For Truth: A Blog by Sherri Smith

With all great things there is a need for protection. We exist in a society where there is a hierarchy in place that ensures the power is maintained and the LOWERarchy has the balance of power controlled and distributed. Perhaps one of our greatest fears is truly owning our power. Any controlling force will try to diminish you but we must transcend beyond the veil of darkness that has kept us suppressed. Our culture has a distorted definition of greatness; fame, beauty and money seem to hold the forefront in the minds of those existing here and yet the truest form of greatness is from a source deep inside. Listen to the calling of the heart and claim victory on its voice.

A common powerlessness in our society is the role of the feminine. Our society has systematically diminished the role of the female, and yet there has never been a more critical time for our nurturance, our loving care and the feminine wisdom for the earth and our society.

What does it truly mean to be in our power? It is a state of knowing; a feeling coming from the bones of the body requiring your entire sensory system to participate, it is our source of passion, a state of clarity and strength. So often we diminish our personal power from the fear or challenge of adversity. Others may begin to see your light and acting from their fears will encourage you or demand that you stay contained to keep predictability in order. These are the predators masking themselves as your guidance or protection. It is conformity with the absence of freedom. A predator can be anything from a system that we exist in to an intimate friend or family member. Our corporate world and capitalistic society has persuaded us to live within a set of rules or be punished. It is a more expansive form of slavery without the definition of colour. To fully stand true in your inherent gifts and authentic self, one must have the sense of safety. Having a protective device that one believes will protect them from the predators allows one to express them self fully with courage, ease and clarity.

Throughout the world there are many forms of talismans created which energetically hold protective medicine for the owner. It is a tool which provides the confidence to operate or function knowing that the jewels and gems of the soul can be protected while being exposed, much like the role of security guards at a bank. Having a supportive network will also create a sense of safety for one to step into their gifts. We were born with a purpose and having that purpose diminished or suppressed creates great angst and turmoil within our bodies and minds. Encouragement in our homes and education system to express oneself authentically becomes imperative.

What is your joy? When do you feel the most alive? What gives you the deepest satisfaction?
