Searching For Truth: A Blog by Sherri Smith
Each tradition I have had the privilege of studying with takes the approach of looking at the person as a whole, and not just on the densest level of physicality. Our physical body is comprised of muscle, organs and tissues but often the underlying issue is much deeper. If we can recognize first that things occurring in higher frequencies work its way through the body into the lowest frequency, we can approach healing also from this perspective. As we feel this level of vibrancy emanating from our core depths we begin to truly know a state of bliss; our authenticity and truth.
Each of us also houses an Energy body or Subtle body. It comprises the chakras, nadis, nerve channels and meridians. Eastern medicine adopts many techniques or approaches in restoring balance to these life giving pathways and systems. Without this life force, we cease to exist. As it dwindles, so does the functionality of our systems and organs.
Yet another frequency is the Mental body. This is our perceiving mind and belief system. Very powerful work can be done on this level with hypnosis, shirodhara, vipassana and plant medicine to expand our thinking mind, eradicate limiting beliefs and move us away from dullness or mediocrity. We all desire a fuller life, richer experiences and deeper meaning so as we explore this level the external experiences heighten. As you go deeper into healing, it becomes imperative that you are working in a ‘safe’ container, so knowing your practitioner and their credentials and trusting the space is critical.
And yet another layer of our existence is the Emotional body or Subconscious. It is being revealed through today’s science that unresolved emotions sit within the cellular body of muscle and connective tissues. Working first to destabilize these ‘stuck’ emotions then approaching with resolution such as forgiveness and releasing techniques can eradicate them from becoming repetitive response patterns in our lives and opening to a healthier response and overall healthier existence.
I recently read a quote from the Dalai Lama when asked what surprised him most about humanity, his response was:
“Man. Because he sacrifices his health to make money. Then he sacrifices his money to recuperate his health. He lives as though he is never going to die and dies after having never really lived.”
Open the doorway full on to health and happiness. Make this your unforgettable journey.
Discover your bliss.
